Stages in the making of a picture
While on holiday on 2019 I took a picture of a glassblower at work.
Here the background is cluttered and the bright rail at his back is really distracting. The first step here was to sharpen the image - something that has to happen to all images taken as RAW files.
The next step was to darken (using the burn in tool) the bright areas which were distracting. This concentrates the attention on the subject of the photograph.
To bring the attention to the subhect even more, a vignette was applied.
This image was accepted into "Lisboa 2020" on it's first submission to an international exhibition. Without this editing I doubt that this would have happened.
